These stages include design, planning, purchasing, material fabricating, assembling, testing, quality assurance, and inspection. This guide does not specify the use of a particular standard usage nor does it detail what the standard covers, and does not compare the different standards or specify which particular standard should be used for a particular product, test, or specific application. A partial list of sources for obtaining various standards is included.
