Harlandale Independent School District (HISD) in San Antonio is soliciting bids for coating work and renovations to an existing school facility.
The submittal date for this project is Aug. 6. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. on July 10 at the HISD Purchasing Department. Prospective bidders will then convene at the Scheh Center Campus for a site visit.
Scope of Work
This project involves painting and repairs to the HISD Arena Multi-Purpose Building at the Scheh Center Campus in San Antonio.
Exterior work includes application of a three-coat latex system on concrete, masonry, drywall and ferrous metal substrates. Specified concrete substrates will receive a two-coat siloxane system. A two-coat latex system will be applied to vinyl, aluminum and galvanized metal substrates.

Interior work is scheduled to include application of a three-coat latex system on metal, masonry and concrete surfaces. Other concrete and metal surfaces will receive two- and three-coat systems of epoxy and latex-alkyd, respectively.
Surfaces will require preparation in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3) and Surface Preparation of Concrete (SSPC-SP 13/NACE No. 6).
The owner-specified manufacturer for this project is Sherwin-Williams.
