Bidding Open for New VA Fire Station Coating

The City of Waynesboro in Virginia is soliciting bids for the construction and coating of a new fire station.

The submittal date for this project is July 9. An optional pre-bid conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. on June 4 at the Charles T. Yancey Municipal Building. A site visit is scheduled to follow the pre-bid conference.

Scope of Work

This project involves construction, painting and site work for the new Fire Station No. 2 in Waynesboro, Virginia.

Exterior work involves application of a three-coat water-based light industrial latex system on metal substrates.

Interior work is scheduled to include application of a three-coat latex system on concrete masonry, shop-primed steel, galvanized steel, wood and gypsum board surfaces, as well as trim, conduits, duct and piping.

Surfaces will require preparation in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning, (SSPC-SP 2), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5/NACE No. 1), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and Pickling (SSPC-SP 8).

The owner-specified manufacturers for this project include Benjamin Moore & Co., PPG Paints and Sherwin-Williams.
