The contract was awarded to Weaver-Bailey Contractors, Inc. of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Weaver-Bailey Contractors was the lowest of two apparent bidders, the other being Webber, LLC (The Woodlands, Texas), in the amount of $138,878,657.40.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department has awarded a contract in the amount of $116,993,040.13 for construction and coating of one beam bridge structure, as well as widening and upgrades to an existing highway near Cabot, Arkansas.

The project involves construction of a new beam bridge structure. The contractor will also oversee road widening and improvements, replacement of two other bridge structures, construction of two box culverts and miscellaneous site work.
The project includes painting 79.5 tons of structural steel, coating 5,193 square yards of concrete substrates with Class 2 protective surface treatment, and laying approximately 250,000 square yards of Portland cement concrete.
Steel surfaces will require application of a three-coat system consisting of a zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate and urethane finish.
The owner-approved manufacturers for this project include Advanced Chemical Technologies, BASF, Carboline, Euclid, Evonik, PPG and Sherwin-Williams.
