Scope of Work
This project involves construction and painting of the new Fort Bend Middle School.
Exterior work involves a three-coat system of alkyd on ferrous and galvanized metal substrates, including doors and frames; and a three-coat system of latex on wood and plywood substrates.
Interior work is scheduled to include a three-coat system of latex on gypsum board, galvanized metal, ferrous metal and woodwork surfaces.

Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5/NACE No. 1), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3), Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7/NACE No. 4), Pickling (SSPC-SP 8), Bare Metal Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 11), and Brush-Off Blast Cleaning of Coated and Uncoated Galvanized Steel, Stainless Steels and Non-Ferrous Metals (SSPC-SP 16).
Certification for SSPC-QP 3 is required.
Owner-specified manufacturers for this project include Behr, Benjamin Moore & Co., Devoe, Glidden, PPG Paints and Sherwin-Williams.
