Bidding Open for MD Museum Complex Reno

The Maryland Department of General Services is soliciting bids for building expansion and renovations at an existing park and museum complex.

The submittal date for this project is Sept. 27. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 at the project site.

Scope of Work

This project involves painting and renovations to the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory, located at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in St. Leonard, Maryland.

Exterior work involves application of a three-coat system of latex on galvanized steel, aluminum and fiber-cement board substrates.

Interior work is scheduled to include application of a three-coat system of latex on non-traffic concrete, concrete masonry units, steel, gypsum board and insulation covering surfaces. A two-coat system of floor sealer will be applied to traffic concrete surfaces.

Steel surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7/NACE No. 4), and Bare Metal Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 11).

Owner-specified manufacturers for this project include Benjamin Moore & Co., Glidden, PPG Paints, Pratt & Lambert, Sherwin-Williams and Valspar.
