VA Soliciting Bids for CT Pharmacy Building

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is soliciting bids for construction of a new inpatient pharmacy building at the West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven, Connecticut.The submittal date for this project is June 21.

Scope of Work

This project involves construction and painting of a two-story addition to West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven, Connecticut.

Exterior work involves application of a two-coat system of latex on wood substrates; a two-coat system of alkyd on steel and ferrous metal substrates; a single-coat system of alkyd on machinery without factory finish; and a two-coat system of cementitious copolymer resin on concrete substrates.

Interior work is scheduled to include application of a two-coat system of alkyd on ferrous, galvanized and miscellaneous metal surfaces; a two-coat system of latex on gypsum board surfaces; a three-coat system of latex on masonry and concrete walls; a two-coat system of polyurethane on wood surfaces; and single-coat systems of latex on cement board and concrete floors.

Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3) and Near-White Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2).
