Scope of Work
This project involves construction and painting of a new North Bay Community and Recreation Centre in North Bay, Ontario, Canada.
Exterior work involves application of a coating system of alkali-resistant primer, latex and finishing sealer on concrete substrates. Galvanized steel and other metal substrates will require a three-coat system of latex.
Interior work is scheduled to include application of a three-coat system of latex, epoxy, and sealant on concrete surfaces. A three-coat system of latex and epoxy will be required on wood surfaces, galvanized metal surfaces, and metal fabrications, including doors, frames, and miscellaneous ducts and piping. A three-coat system of latex and polyurethane is required on dressed lumber surfaces.

Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3), Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7/NACE No. 4), Near-White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) and Brush-Off Blast Cleaning of Non-Ferrous Metals (SSPC-SP 16).
Owner-approved manufacturers include Benjamin Moore & Co., Carboline, Devoe Industrial Coatings, PPG and Sherwin-Williams.
