The Rockford School District No. 205 in Rockford, Illinois, is seeking bids for the interior renovation of the Flinn and Kennedy Middle Schools.

In this project, all interior CMU substrates will be coated using a three-coat system that is made up of block filler, primer and a topcoat. All ceramic tile will be coated using a two-coat system that is comprised of primer and an epoxy finish.
Metal substrates are to be coated using a four-coat system. This system will consist of one coat of primer, one intermediate coat of water-based acrylic and two topcoats of water-based acrylic. Wood substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system that is made up of one coat of latex primer, one intermediate coat and one topcoat of epoxy.
Finally, all gypsum board surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat system that consists of an acrylic primer, an intermediate coat and a topcoat of epoxy.
Surface preparation for this project is as followed. All steel substrates are to be cleaned using the standards associated with Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7) or Power-Tool Cleaning to Bare Metal (SSPC-SP 11).
The brands specified for this project are Sherwin-Williams Benjamin Moore, Glidden Professional, PPG and Pratt & Lambert.
