MO Elevated Water Tank Project Out for Bid

Springfield City Utilities is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate the Glenstone Elevated Water Tank in Springfield, Missouri.

Bids are due Jan. 17.

Scope of Work

This project involves cleaning and coating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 1.5 million-gallon elevated water storage tank.

Springfield City Utilities is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate the Glenstone Elevated Water Tank in Springfield, Missouri.

Contractors will abrasive blast clean the interior surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and epoxy system.

The exterior surfaces will be abrasive blast cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3). The exterior metal surfaces will be coated with a zinc-rich primer, polyurethane intermediate and fluoropolymer finish.

The work also includes abrasive blast cleaning the exterior concrete foundation surfaces to Concrete standards (SSPC-SP13) and coating with an epoxy primer and polyurethane finish.

The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec.
