Lake Havasu City

The government of Lake Havasu City, in Arizona, is seeking contractors for the rehabilitation of four reservoirs.

Contractors will oversee abrasive blast-cleaning of interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10). The interiors will then be coated with one to two coats of a 100 percent-solids epoxy coating.

The exterior tank surfaces will be spot-repaired and cleaned by pressure washing, brush-off blast-cleaning (SSPC-SP 7) and vacuum blast-cleaning to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10). The exteriors will then be coated with two coats of an epoxy and a polyurethane finish.

Owner-approved coating brands for all tank surfaces include ICI Devoe, Tnemec, Raven Lining Systems and Sherwin-Williams, or an approved equal.

The work also includes replacing the existing cathodic protection systems inside of each tank. Dehumidification is required.

The existing coatings on some of the tanks appear to contain lead and/or chromium. Lead abatement and containment are required.

The contractor is required to possess an SSPC-QP 1 certification.
