Position:

Maintenance Team member

What does this job do?

He or she is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the equipment throughout the Alsip site. This includes troubleshooting equipment/instrumentation problems, repairing equipment breakdowns, and implementing preventative maintenance practices to continue the safe operation of the production unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain equipment asset reliability throughout the plant
    • Work with maintenance team to execute the necessary repairs to equipment to maintain safe operation
    • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
    • During repairs, ensure that repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, etc are followed.
    • Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment and plant facilities
    • Complete instrumentation calibrations and quality checks
    • Perform electro/mechanical skills including, but not limited to electrical troubleshooting and repair of production machines and related apparatus
    • Organize contractor work, as needed, for various repairs throughout the plant
    • Participate in the maintenance department on-call rotation schedule to service equipment failures during off-hour shifts
    • Attain necessary certifications to assist facility compliance with regulations and Arkema internal standards
  • Spare part inventory management system
    • Preserve accurate critical spare inventory
    • Ensure spare part area is neat and organized
  • Provide support for SAP and electronic database management system (EDMS)
    • Navigate through SAP work order system and close out work orders as completed
    • Upload necessary documentation to EDMS system
  • Participate in HSEQ activities provided by the site management, Arkema Coating Resins and Arkema, Inc.
    • Complete peer-to-peer behavioral based safety observations
    • Conduct daily safety reviews to share findings with team

What background do I need:

  • Minimum requirements: High school diploma/GED
  • Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolding or powered lifts when required.
  • 1+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Industrial skills
