CORROSION TECHNICIAN – ORCHARD PARK, NY
National Fuel is currently seeking a Corrosion Technician for an outstanding career opportunity at our Orchard Park Servicenter, located in Orchard Park, NY. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform basic field testing of corrosion control systems on underground metallic structures
- Installation of new corrosion control systems and/or inspecting the installation of new systems and documenting these activities
- Monitor, Operate, Repair, and Maintain natural gas pipeline and related corrosion control devices and systems
- Monitor corrosion test stations, rectifiers, bonds, and related corrosion control devices by taking readings (including pipe to soil differentials), documenting those readings, and diagnosing/troubleshooting as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- An Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent work experience
- A valid driver’s license
- Physical capability to work outdoors year-round and around hazards and difficult to reach areas
- Demonstrate mechanical ability, excellent customer service/communication skills and basic computer/data entry skills
- Basic literacy is required. Candidates must be able to read, legibly prepare written documentation and have the ability to accurately interpret and analyze written information
- Candidates must live within a reasonable commute of the Orchard Park Office or be willing to relocate
- Availability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, including off hours, weekends, and holidays
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Any previous experience with corrosion control systems or work in the public utility sector as it relates to corrosion control is preferred
- Any NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) or related association (SSPC, AMPP) certifications or education

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This is a position within the Company’s collective bargaining unit with an hourly rate of pay of $35.55 and after 1 year $38.30.
