The Industrial Painter will operate air-pressured paint equipment to spray sheet metal parts with water based paint.
- Masking of parts: Per engineering drawings, applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
- Cleaning of parts: Cleans grease and dirt from product.
- Mixes paint - Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color and according to specifications with viscometer to regulate consistency according to changes in atmospheric conditions.
- Adjusts thermostat to maintain specified temperature in parts baking oven.
- Readjusts pressure valves to control direction and pattern of spray and to correct flaws in coating.
- Inspection: Inspects painted units for runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and company policies at all times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma, Vocational Technical school training or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience required painting small to medium sized parts in an industrial manufacturing paint booth, utilizing spray guns, reading blue prints, schematics, engineering drawings.
COMPUTER SKILLS Use of Microsoft Excel and Word, along with database look-up and entry skills.
