Position Duties: The following are basic duties of the position.

Perform Bi-Monthly Rectifier Inspections: Inspect rectifiers, clean and measure output on a bi-monthly basis. Inspection reports will be entered into PCS and a Hess-provided SharePoint folder. Provide weekly progress reports to supervisor and program manager.

Perform Annual Surveys: Evaluate the condition and output of existing Cathodic Protection (CP) Systems. Provide weekly progress reports to supervisor and program manager.

Perform Atmospheric Inspections: Inspect all jurisdictional assets, including pipelines, facility-associated tanks, piping and vessels and gather data to ensure compliance with 49 CFR Part 192 Subpart I: 459, 461, 479, 481 & 491; and 49 CFR Part 195 Subpart H: 581 & 583. Technicians will provide recommendations to increase operational reliability, longevity, and safety of company assets. Upon completion of inspections, technicians install unique identification tags (pin brazing or bolting) at each atmospheric location selected for future monitoring without damaging coating systems. Data gathered is recorded in accordance with NACE SP0169-2013 & SSPC VIS-2 standards.

Perform Facility Assessments: Technicians will assess electrical isolation; mapping each piping network and confirming the electrical isolation of below-ground assets with respect to station grounding system(s) and piping entering or exiting the facility. Technicians will also confirm that cathodic protection is applied at each facility; and that it meets the level of protection required to effectively mitigate below-ground corrosion and extend asset life.
