Contractors Wanted for World Heritage Center Project

The City of San Antonio is soliciting bids for the construction of a new World Heritage Center.

The submittal date for this project is Aug. 30.

Scope of Work

This project involves painting and site work at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and VFW Boulevard in San Antonio, Texas.

Exterior work involves a two-coat system of latex on concrete, coated wood and trim and plywood substrates. A two-coat system of polyurethane will be required on stained wood substrates, and a three-coat system of varnish is required for natural finish wood substrates. A two-coat system of alkyd and a three-coat system of polyurethane will be required on ferrous and galvanized metal substrates. A three-coat system of alkyd is required on aluminum and specified galvanized and ferrous metal substrates.

Interior work is scheduled to include three-coat systems of latex and epoxy on concrete, ferrous metal, galvanized metal and gypsum drywall surfaces. A three-coat system of polyurethane will be required on specified ferrous metal surfaces. A three-coat system of alkyd is required on painted woodwork and hardboard surfaces.

Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5/NACE No. 1), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3), Pickling (SSPC-SP 8) and Surface Preparation of Concrete (SSPC-SP 13).

Manufacturers specified for this project are Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams.
