Contractors Needed for Water Tower Rehabilitation

The City of Coppell in Texas is currently seeking contractors for the rehabilitation of a two-million-gallon composite elevated water storage tank.

Bids are due Jan. 13.

Scope of Work

This project involves the rehabilitation and the coating of an existing two-million-gallon composite water storage tank.

The work includes the abrasive blast-cleaning of all areas to the standards associated with Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and pressure washed with a water clean (SSPC-SP 1) prior to blasting. This is to prevent embedment of contaminants from the existing coatings. The interior surfaces of the tank shall be abrasive blast cleaned to Near White (SSPC-SP 10/ NACE No. 2) standards.

The City of Coppell in Texas is currently seeking contractors for the rehabilitation of a two-million-gallon composite elevated water storage tank.

The work also includes the coating of interior surfaces using a three-coat system that consists of zinc rich primer and two coats of polyamide epoxy.

Finally, the project includes the coating of exterior surfaces using a zinc rich primer and an epoxy, polyurethane and fluoropolymer system.

The approved coating manufacturer for this project is Tnemec.

Containment is required for this project.
