Contractors Wanted for CA Bridge Replacement

The City of Petaluma in California is seeking contractors to replace the First and F Street Bridges.

A non-mandatory pre-bid site visit will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 27.

Bids are due Nov. 18.

Scope of Work

The project involves the replacement of an existing bridge structure at the intersection of First and F Streets in Petaluma, California.

Work includes demolition of the old wooden bridge structure and replacement with a new pre-cast bottomless concrete arch culvert with headwall and cast-in-place wing walls. The project will also include installation of storm drain inlets, bridge railings, drilled piles into the underlying Bay Mud and installation of sheet pile coffer dams.

The City of Petaluma in California is seeking contractors to replace the First and F Street Bridges.

The project includes surface preparation of finished painted and interior dry exposure surfaces to Hand-Tool and Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2, SSPC-SP 3). In areas where jobsite exposure is expected to exceed six months, Commercial Blast-Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) is required. Interior dry surfaces will be coated with either an organic zinc-rich urethane system or a zinc-filled urethane system.

The awarded contractor will oversee surface preparation of exterior exposure surfaces and interior exposure subject to wet conditions to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3). For severe exposure Near White abrasive blast-cleaning (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) is required. The project includes application of an organic zinc-rich urethane system.

Work will also include surface preparation via Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3) and fireproofing application.

The owner-approved coatings manufacturer is Tnemec.
