Exterior work involves application of three-coat systems of concrete/masonry primer and latex on concrete, stucco and brick substrates. Concrete masonry unit surfaces will require three-coat systems of block filler, alkyd and latex. Ferrous-metal, zinc-coated metal and aluminum surfaces will require three coats of latex enamel. Wood surfaces will require three coats of latex.
Interior work is scheduled to include three-coat systems of latex enamel on concrete, masonry and brick surfaces. Concrete unit masonry, gypsum board and plaster surfaces will require three-coat systems of epoxy and latex. Acoustical plaster will require two coats of latex. Wood substrates will require three-coat systems of alkyd and latex.
Ferrous-metal and zinc-coated metal surfaces will require three coats of latex. All-service jacketing over insulation will require a two-coat system of latex and a fungicidal agent to render the fabric mildew-proof. Interior woodwork will require filler, stain and two coats of varnish.
Steel surfaces are to be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7/NACE No. 4).
Manufacturers specified for this project are Benjamin Moore & Co., Coronado Paint Co., Duron Inc., ICI Paint Stores Inc., MAB Paints, PPG Architectural Finishes Inc. and Sherwin-Williams.
