The Delaware Department of Education is accepting bids for the construction and painting of a fitness center.
The submittal date for this project is Sept. 15. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 11 a.m., Aug. 26, at the project site.
Scope of Work
This project involves the construction and painting of a physical fitness center at the Army National Guard Bethany Beach Training Site in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Exterior work on masonry and concrete substrates involves a three-coat system consisting of latex. Metal surfaces will require a three-coat system consisting of alkyd.
Interior work involves a three-coat system of latex on metal, gypsum board, concrete and masonry substrates. Wood surfaces will require three-coat systems of latex and transparent varnish and sealer.
Steel surfaces are to be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2) and Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3).
Manufacturers specified for this project are ICI Paints, Duron, Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore.
