Contractors Needed for FL Tank Improvements

The City of Tampa is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate and recoat the Morris Bridge East Ground Storage Tank in Tampa, Florida.

Bids are due June 22.

Scope of Work

This project involves coating and repairing the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing five million gallon ground water storage tank.

The City of Tampa is currently seeking contractors to rehabilitate and recoat the Morris Bridge East Ground Storage Tank in Tampa, Florida.

Contractors will pressure wash (SSPC/NACE WJ-4) and abrasive blast clean the interior metal surfaces to Near White Standards (SSPC-SP10). The interior metal surfaces will be coated with a three-coat epoxy system. The interior concrete surfaces will be coated with a two-coat epoxy system.

 

The exterior metal surfaces will be pressure washed (SSPC/NACE WJ-4) and abrasive blast cleaned to Commercial Standards (SSPC-SP 6). The exterior metal surfaces will be coated with an epoxy first coat, acrylic second coat, and polyurethane finish coat.

 

The exterior concrete surfaces will be pressure washed at 3,200-5,000 PSI. The exterior concrete surfaces will be coated with a two-coat epoxy system.

 

The owner-approved coating manufacturers include Sherwin-Williams, Tnemec, Carboline, International, PPG/Ameron, or an approved equal may be submitted for approval.
