Bids Wanted for MD School Gym Painting

The Maryland School for the Deaf in Fredrick, Maryland, is seeking bids for painting the Benson Gymnasium.

The submittal date for this project is May 26.

A pre-bid meeting for this project is scheduled for May 12, however, attendance is not specified as mandatory.

Scope of Work

In this project, the contractor shall apply a three-coat system to the walls of one coat primer and two coats of acrylic. All metal decking, bar joist and air ducts shall also be painted using a three-coat system of one coat primer and two coats of topcoat.

All surfaces are to be prepped by scraping any loose paint and cleaning any ducts and joist within the gymnasium. All surfaces must be cleaned and scrubbed before applying primer to the surface.

Containment is required. The contractor shall cover all gym equipment before beginning including basketball hoops, bleachers and the gymnasium floor. Any damage done to the gymnasium floor will be the contractor’s responsibility.
