CO Bridge Painting Project Out for Bid

The Town of Vail is seeking contractors to paint and repair components on nine pedestrian and two roadway bridges throughout Vail, Colorado.

Bids are due April 29.

Scope of Work

This project involves preparing and coating various wood and steel components on 11 existing bridges.

The Town of Vail is seeking contractors to paint and repair components on nine pedestrian and two roadway bridges throughout Vail, Colorado.

The work on the Mud Spring Underpass Bridge will include power washing and sealing wooden deck surface. The steel surfaces will be primed with an acrylic and coated with a two-coat alkyd-urethane system.

Railing and girders on the Recreation Path Bridge, North Recreation Path Bridge and North Recreation Path will be primed with an acrylic primer and coated with a two-coat alkyd-urethane system.

Handrails on the Promenade Pedestrian Bridge and Vail International Bridge will be primed with an acrylic primer and two-coat alkyd-urethane system.

The Vail Covered Bridge surfaces will be primed with an acrylic primer and coated with a two-coat alkyd-urethane system.

Wooden surfaces on the Pirateship Park Bridge are to be sealed.

The work on the Bald Mountain/Booth Creek Park Rec Trail includes priming and coating tubular steel surfaces with an acrylic primer and alkyd-urethane system. Wire mesh panel surfaces will be spray painted.

The West Vail Roundabout Bridge railing will be primed with an acrylic primer and coated with an alkyd-urethane system.

The Nugget Lane Bridge wooden railings will be stained.

The owner-approved coating manufacturers include Sherwin-Williams, Rust-Oleum and Olympic.
