Contractors Needed for SC Tank Coating Project

The Georgetown County Water and Sewer District is currently seeking contractors to repair and recoat an Elevated Tank in Georgetown, South Carolina.

Bids are due Oct. 29.

Scope of Work

This project involves coating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 250,000-gallon elevated water storage tank.

The Georgetown County Water and Sewer District is currently seeking contractors to repair and recoat an Elevated Tank in Georgetown, South Carolina.

Contractors will abrasive blast clean the interior surfaces to Near White Metal standards (SSPC-SP 10). The interior surfaces will be coated with a zinc-rich primer and two-coat epoxy system.

The exterior of the tank will be power washed (3,500 psi) and power tool cleaned (SSPC-SP 3). The exterior surfaces will be coated with an acrylic-polyurethane-fluoropolymer system.

Site and vault piping surfaces will be coated with an epoxy-polyurethane system.

The owner-approved coating manufacturers include Tnemec and Sherwin-Williams.
