In this project, all exterior steel surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat system consisting of one coat of alkyd primer and two coats of polyurethane gloss.
Any interior plastic pipe will be coated using a four-coat system made up of two coats of latex primer followed by two coats of acrylic semi-gloss. Wood surfaces are to be coated using a one-coat system that is stain. Finally, cement surfaces will be coated using a three-coat system comprised of one coat of primer and two coats of filler.
Steel substrates are to be cleaned using the standards associated with Hand-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power-Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3) and Steel Joist Shop Primer (SSPC-Paint 15).
The brands specified for this project are Sherwin-Williams, Behr, Benjamin Moore and PPG.
