Bids Needed for VA Tank Project

The Western Virginia Water Authority is currently seeking contractors to clean and recoat the Fairway Estates and Hidden Woods Tanks in Roanoke, Virginia.

Bids are due May 12.

Scope of Work

This project involves cleaning and coating the interior and exterior surfaces of existing 90,000-gallon and 100,000-gallon ground water storage tanks.

The Western Virginia Water Authority is currently seeking contractors to clean and recoat the Fairway Estates and Hidden Woods Tanks in Roanoke, Virginia.

Contractors will abrasive blast clean the interior surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and two coat epoxy system.

The exterior surfaces will be high pressure water cleaned by light water-jetting (SSPC-WJ4) and spot-blast cleaned to Power Tool standards (SSPC-SP 3). The exterior surfaces will then be coated with an epoxy primer and two coat acrylic system.

The owner-approved coating manufacturers include Tnemec, Sherwin-Williams, or an approved equal.
