The City of Lynchburg, Virginia, is seeking bids for the renovation of the Fairview Neighborhood Center. The Fairview Neighborhood Center hosts numerous programs for residents of all ages in the area.

In this project, all exterior steel surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat system. This system will consist of one coat of primer, one coat of alkyd enamel and a topcoat of alkyd semi-gloss. All wood exterior wood substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system consisting of one prime coat of alkyd, one intermediate coat of latex and one topcoat of latex.
Interior steel substrates are to be coated using a three-coat system that is made up of primer, and two coats of latex. Galvanized metal substrates will be coated using a three-coat system that is comprised of one coat of primer and two coats of latex.
Gypsum surfaces are to be coated using a three-coat system that is made up of one coat of primer followed by two coats of latex. CMU substrates will be coated using a three-coat system that will be composed of block filler and two coats of latex. Finally, wood substrates on the interior will be coated using a three-coat system consisting of primer and two coats of latex.
Surface preparation for this project includes shop-primed steel substrates be cleaned using the standards associated with the touching up of shop-primed surfaces (SSPC-PA 1).
The brands specified for this project are Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, PPG, Duron, Euclid, ICI Paints, Zinsser and Pratt & Lambert.
