New and existing painted wood and trim surfaces will require an acrylic enamel primer and a two-coat acrylic semi-gloss top coat. Stained and sealed wood surfaces will require a toner stain to match existing water-based sealants and two coats of waterborne polyurethane top coats. For surfaces receiving a semi-transparent wood stain, a wiping and penetrating stain will be applied.

Ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces will require an acrimetal primer and two coats of a acrimetal semi-gloss top coat. Gypsum drywall surfaces will receive either a PVA primer or primer sealer followed by two coats of premium satin topcoat.

Existing coatings contain lead. For renovations, repairs and painting, the contractor is responsible for following all federal, state and local laws associated with lead-based paints for “Child-Occupied Facilities."

Approved manufacturers include: Benjamin Moore, Miller Paint, PPG, Rodda Paint Co., Rust-Oleum, Sherwin-Williams, Glidden, Kelly Moore or an approved equal.
