Interior Painting Needed on NY Building

The New York State Department of Labor is seeking Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses to perform interior painting services on the Department of Labor Career Center building located at 303 W Old Country Road in Hicksville, New York.

The center represents the towns of Oyster Bay and North Hempstead, as well as the City of Glen Cove under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

Bids are due July 25.

Scope of Work 

Contractors are urged to bid on complete interior coating services for the New York State Career Center in Hicksville. The contract will include painting all existing painted surfaces, all new wallboards, ferrous metals and wooden top caps.

The New York State Department of Labor is seeking Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses to perform interior painting services on the Department of Labor Career Center building located at 303 W Old Country Road in Hicksville, New York.

Gypsum drywall ceilings will be coated with a latex primer and two coats of an interior latex flat finish coat. Gypsum drywall walls will receive an interior latex primer and two coats of interior latex eggshell finish coating application. Gypsum drywall with polomyx and aqua fleck will receive an interior latex primer/sealer followed by two coats of interior latex semi-gloss. When painting over polymyx substrates, an extreme bond primer and two coats of interior latex semi-gloss coating will be used.

Ferrous metals including factory-primed hollow metal doors and frames will receive an alkyd metal primer followed by two coats of zero-VOC interior latex semi-gloss. Wood-trim doors and trim will receive one coat of paste wood filler followed by an interior wood penetrating stain and two finish coatings of waterborne polyurethane varnish. CMU, gypsum, metal doors and trim located in labs and bathrooms will receive an interior latex primer and two finish coats of an EPA-approved microbicide coating application.

Owner-approved manufacturers include Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams.
