MN Three-Tank Coating Project Out for Bid

The Red Rock Rural Water System is currently seeking contractors to clean and coat three existing water towers in Jeffers, Minnesota.

Bids are due June 6. The cost estimate for this project is $724,000.

Scope of Work

This project involves cleaning and coating existing 100,000-gallon, 500,000-gallon and 200,000-gallon elevated water storage tanks.

Contractors will abrasive blast-clean the wet interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2). The interior surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich polyurethane primer and epoxy finish.

The interior dry tank surfaces will be cleaned to Power-Tool standards (SSPC-SP 3) and coated with a zinc-rich polyurethane primer and epoxy finish.

The exterior tank surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and coated with a zinc-rich polyurethane primer, acrylic-polyurethane intermediate and fluoropolymer-polyurethane finish.

The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec or an approved equal.

Containment and proper collection/disposal of blast materials are required.
