The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government is seeking contractors to oversee replacement of the Polk Street Bridge located in Houma, Louisiana.

The chosen contractor will oversee abrasive blast-cleaning of exposed steel surfaces to a minimum of Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10) and high-pressure washing as necessary to remove any contamination between coating applications. Carbon steel surfaces will then receive a shop-applied zinc primer, a high-build epoxy intermediate and an aliphatic acrylic polyurethane finish coating application.

The contractor will also oversee coating of all cast iron and ductile iron fittings with an inside cement mortar lining and an outside coal-tar dip coating. Ductile iron fittings will also be coated with an amine-cured epoxy resin. All welds and seams will require strip coating through brush application.

Protective coatings for interior wet applications must be listed by NSF International as approved for potable water contact in accordance with ANSI/NSF Standard 61, Section 5 (Protective Barrier Materials). Coating and painting applications must conform to SSPC-PA's latest revision for "Shop Field and Maintenance Painting."

The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Tnemec.
