MN Water Tower Coating Out for Bid

The University of Minnesota is currently seeking contractors to coat the existing St. Paul Water Tower in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

Bids are due March 4.

Scope of Work

This project involves coating and repairing an existing 150,000-gallon elevated water storage tank.

Contractors will abrasive blast-clean the wet interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP10/NACE No. 2). The interior wet surfaces will then be coated with a zinc-rich primer and two-coat epoxy system.

University of Minnesota

The University of Minnesota is currently seeking contractors to coat the existing St. Paul Water Tower in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

The interior dry surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP6/NACE No. 3) and coated with a zinc-rich primer and epoxy system.

The exterior tank surfaces abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP6/NACE No. 3) and coated with a zinc-rich primer, epoxy intermediate and urethane finish.

Exterior concrete foundation surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Concrete standards (SSPC-SP13) and coated.

The owner-approved coating manufacturers include Tnemec and Sherwin-Williams.

A containment system is required.
