The City of Atlanta is soliciting contractors to construct a new fire station, which will reportedly be located in the northwest side of the city.
Bids are due for this project by Jan. 31.
Scope of Work
The awarded contractor is responsible for the construction of a new multi-level 16,728-square-foot fire station. The work will involve a glass storefront curtain wall, brick construction and TPO roofing system.

The City of Atlanta is soliciting contractors to construct a new fire station, which will reportedly be located in the northwest side of the city.

The work will involve the interior coating of concrete substrates and non-traffic surfaces with either an interior prime latex coating and two coats of an interior latex eggshell or an interior primer/sealer and two coats of an interior alkyd eggshell.
For concrete substrates that are traffic surfaces, the contractor is responsible for coating with either a latex of alkyd floor enamel system consisting of an interior/exterior floor primer and two coats of an interior/exterior latex paint or alkyd floor enamel. The contractor will also oversee the coating of CMU substrates with an acrylic or alkyd system.
The contractor will be responsible for the coating of steel substrates, galvanized metal substrates, aluminum substrates, glue-laminated beams and columns, dressed lumber, wood panels/substrates, gypsum boards and plaster surfaces. Coating systems for these surfaces vary between choice of only latex, latex and alkyd, or only alkyd combinations. The building will be designed for a LEED Silver Designation.
Owner-approved brands include Porter Paints (Basis of Design), Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Duron Paint, ICI – Dulux Paints/Devoe Coatings and PPG.
