KY Elevated Storage Tank Job Out for Bid

The Louisville Water Company is seeking contractors for the recoating of the Parkridge Elevated Water Storage Tank, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Bids are due June 6. The cost estimate for this project is $250,001-$500,000.

Scope of Work

This project involves recoating the interior and exterior surfaces of an existing 250,000-gallon elevated water storage tank.

The Louisville Water Company is seeking contractors for the recoating of the Parkridge Elevated Water Storage Tank, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Contractors will abrasive blast-clean wet interior tank surfaces to Near White standards (SSPC-SP 10). The wet interior will then be coated with a three-coat epoxy system.

Dry interior surfaces will be abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6) and coated with a two-coat epoxy system.

The exterior tank surfaces will also be abrasive blast-cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6) and coated with a zinc-rich urethane primer, epoxy intermediate, polyurethane intermediate and fluoropolymer-urethane finish.

The work includes pressure-washing and coating the tank foundation with a two-coat epoxy system. Owner-approved coating manufacturers include Tnemec, Sherwin-Williams, Induron or an equal.

The contractor will seal/caulk various tank surfaces with a polyurethane-based sealant. The owner-approved brand is the Sika Corporation.

Dehumidification is required. The owner-approved dehumidification equipment brand is the Munters Corporation or an approved equal.

Containment and disposal of abrasive-blast debris is required.

A three-year coatings warranty is required.
