General Summary

This position will be focused on engineering-based improvements within Enerflex' Fabrication department. Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager the successful candidate can expect to:

* Conduct time studies and lead improvement projects focused on Fabrication processes
* Support and lead short-term and long-term department goals
* Plan and estimate budgets for future capital projects
* Support Technical Specialist with technical document creation and trade meeting preparation
* Write, format, edit, and update instructions and procedures to be used by Fabrication
* Analyze, modify, and present data from MS Excel spreadsheets for performance indicators
* Assist in further integration of our CAD system to support labor standards and bills of materials

The candidate will leverage knowledge and skills of manufacturing methods and improvement methodology to develop and evaluate manufacturing improvement methods focused on advancing company goals of increasing fabrication capabilities, supporting business growth, reducing costs, setting labor standards, improving quality, improving efficiencies, reducing cycle times, and improving throughput.

The candidate must be able develop good working relationships with production personnel to promote a team approach to process improvement and support the development our continuous improvement culture.

Requirements & Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering program
* Preferred experience with process flow and design
* Preferred experience with Continuous Improvement and Problem-Solving methodologies
* Preferred experience with design of build processes and supporting systems.
* Must be computer literate in Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, 2D/3D Modeling, CADWorx, ISO diagrams.
* Preferred basic understanding ISO 9000 series quality management systems.
* Basic knowledge of various industry codes and local regulations, ANSI, ASTM, AWS, NACE, API, ASIC, SSPC, etc.
* Highly developed personal communication skills: ability to communicate and motivate effectively.

Assigned Control

* Manufacturing engineering deliverables throughout the fabrication process
* Detailed work instruction templates, responsible for revision control of all Fabrication specific work instructions
* Comprehensive process flow charts for Fabrication
* Identifying and establish methods for collecting information and data from shop personnel related to goals and activity time studies.
* Fabrication estimates to support business development

Accountable For

* Improvement of fabrication processes and personnel to support departmental goals
* Completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of Fabrication Manufacturing Engineering deliverables
* Preparation of fabrication reports and progress updates

Influence

* Engineering design and standards
* Manufacturing best practices
* Labor standards and workforce management
* Forecast hours and durations
* Future state of the operations department

Working Conditions

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
