Blaster Painter

Pascagoula, MS

As a Blaster - Painter for Rolls-Royce Defence, you will perform various blasting, painting and coating operations on large marine propulsion components. In preparation for the coatings, you will blast large bronze and stainless-steel castings to meet required surface profile standards. As a key member of the coatings team, Blaster - Painters are responsible to clean, evaluate and perform preventative maintenance on blasting and painting equipment. After each project, the Blaster - Painters are expected to keep tools, equipment and fixtures organized and clean.

Key Accountabilities:

* Clean large castings with detergents and pressured water prior to blasting.
* Blast large bronze and stainless-steel castings
* Apply masking and coverings on areas not to be sprayed.
* Apply paint and coatings to large castings that meet customer specifications
* Sand, fill and fair surfaces prior to finishing
* Operate forklifts, man lifts, scissor lifts, Articulated-Boom lifts and overhead cranes

Basic Requirements:

* High school diploma or GED equivalent and 1 year experience in airless spray painting in industrial settings
* Detailed understanding and knowledge of blasting and painting equipment.
* Ability to work from elevated work platforms
* Ability to lift components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
* between tasks you may be required to carry out additional shop floor duties in line with demand
* In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security clearance, which requires US Citizenship

Preferred Requirements:

* Experience in industrial abrasive blasting operations
* SSPC / AMPP C7 Abrasive Blasting Certification
* SSPC / AMPP C12 Spray Application Certification
* SSPC / AMPP C14 Marine Plural Component Certification
* Experience in plural component coating applications
