TRC is seeking a highly motivated, NACE certified Corrosion Technician III/Team Lead with 5 plus years' experience for our growing Engineering & Survey Pipeline Integrity team. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic to work with technical pipeline survey crew leads to develop their knowledge of the corrosion industry and can live anywhere in the Midwest, southwest or gulf coast area. Approximately 80% Travel.

Current and Valid NACE Cathodic Protection Level 1 Certification (CP-1) required; NACE Cathodic Protection Level 2 (CP-2) highly desired not required.

This position will serve in a key role to improve the overall effectiveness, technology, and customer satisfaction and will focus on identifying opportunities where TRC can assist clients with full-service Integrity Management Program offerings. The incumbent is envisioned to have primary responsibility as they relate to cathodic protection (CP), CP survey methodologies, direct assessment (DA), and non-destructive testing/examination (NDT/NDE). The candidate may also be asked to perform work within the group which are outside the primary tasks. Having experience in the areas of internal corrosion and metallurgy is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supporting our pipeline clients with various pipeline safety program consulting/contracting needs ranging from regulatory compliance to corrosion management. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

* Ability to provide input and solve difficult/specialized technical issues that require an extensive knowledge related to technical/functional project field.
* Ability to find solutions derived from available resources provided internally and/or externally, including policies and procedures.
* Technical expertise in corrosion demonstrated by NACE Certification and experience. Experienced with field CP survey methods, field CP field measurement equipment, and field trouble shooting. Specific experience with CIS, ACVG, DCVG, PCM, and ECDA procedures.
* Able to identify problems and seek solutions.
* Able to make decisions on specific project items which are in keeping with and will promote corporate objectives and goals.
* Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to lead others in varied and complex tasks.
* Ability to manage and schedule field crews
* Able to make final recommendations in area of expertise.
* Proficient in PC operations, including spreadsheet, word processing and database programs.
* Able to work with multidisciplinary project teams.
* Able to work with geographically remote team members.
* Able to produce project estimates with minimal guidance.
* An ability to independently develop a project schedule.
* Ability to ensure projects are performed accurately and efficiently, with on-time performance.
* Strong attention to details.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively work with others and assist in the growth of the team
* Ability to work flexible hours, occasionally more than a normal work week.
* Ability to travel as dictated by project requirements.
* Ability to organize and conduct project meetings.
* Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
* Ability, when necessary, to lead field crew in performing the field project requirements.
* Current and Valid NACE Cathodic Protection Level 1 Certification (CP-1) required, NACE Cathodic Protection Level 2 (CP-2) highly desired not required.
* 5 or more years of experience integrity management.
* Previous pipeline industry experience.
* Must be able to pass specific CP OQs for CIS, DCVG, PCM and Soil Resistivity through Veriforce, MEA, ITS and NCCER OQ programs.
* Must pass and be subject to random DOT Drug Testing program.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
* Strong technical writing skills.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.).
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Must be a self-motivated, team-oriented collaborator.
* Occasional travel may be required.
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred, related field of scientific study, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
