Operates a spray applicator or other equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metals or products. Mixes paints and other solutions and monitors drying to ensure desired results. Completes finishing with baking, polishing or other materials. Follows all required safety procedures. May paint items by hand as Typically reports to supervisor/manager. May require an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Ensure that parts and materials used in the assembly process are free from quality defects
Assist other departments with problem solving or improvement ideas related to assembly
Verifying correct alignment of engine components using engine schematics and part prints
Inspect parts and materials to ensure they are free from quality defects
Paint parts per work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, blueprints, Risk Assessment and job routing.
Conduct operations level maintenance on all paint systems and equipment; paint kitchen, 2KS, paint booth, hoods, guns, etc…
Completes daily production logs to meet environmental and safety standards
Performs daily operator preventative maintenance of work area
Maintain routine housekeeping to eliminate workplace hazards
Identify and relay information for correction on discrepancies in affected assembly processes, safety, quality and production issues.
Perform activities related to hazardous waste handling prioritize work to meet production schedules.
Practice safer behavior.
