Maintenance Worker (Pumping Plant)

Starting Pay Range: $21.49- $22.59 per hour

This position is based at the Snyder Hill Pumping Plant (West of Tucson Mountains between Sandario / mile wide) and Ajo / Tucson Estates).

About the Position

In this position, you would perform manual labor and craft helper associated with operation and maintenance of four pumping plants. Some of these functions will involve carpentry, concrete, protective coating, pest management, welding, environmental compliance, coordination with outside vendors, equipment operations or equipment repair and janitorial duties. You would load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site following guidance of written work order or oral instructions. This work contributes to the efficient and reliable operation of CAP pumping plants, aqueduct, related facility, and supports the reliable delivery of water to CAP customers. Some specific responsibilities include using small hand and power tools to perform routine maintenance tasks, performing data entry into data base for storage, driving and/or operating vehicles, overhead bridge crane, & man lifts. Additional job functions include performing vehicle and equipment pre-maintenance and safety checks.

About the Qualifications

A successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED plus three (3) years of craft training or experience in a "semi-skilled" helper classification. If you have experience in the use of hand and power tools; some knowledge of construction labor work processes, terminology, and related safety rules; as well as knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safety requirements, then we highly encourage you to apply for this position.
