Provides
technical support and training on the use and application of company products,
services, equipment and documentation in acquiring new business and in
maintaining existing customers
Specific
Tasks
- Delivers training to customers
on the use and application of the company products, equipment and
documentation both on-site at the customer’s location and within the
training center.
- Conducts demonstrations of
products and transfers the knowledge on AkzoNobel processes as well as on
technical problem solving to the customers;
- Actively participates, together
and as peer to allocated Sales Representative, in key phases of the sales
process to prospects.
- Conducts and/or assists in the
testing process as well as in the implementation of new products and
technologies.
- Synchronizes own activities
with all departments using CRM, up-dates the key customers’ databases with
valid, accurate and complete information (visits, products, equipment
etc.)
- Cooperates with the technical
department in handling complex technical issues and claims and in
educating customers on solutions.
- Supports product development with
prototype selection advice and test market execution. Maintains allocated
technical company equipment in a safe and proper manner. Delivers
periodical progress reports, proactively submits information regarding
trends within the market and provides recommendations regarding the
improvements in the approach to the marketplace. Assists sales departments
in the implementation of sales strategies and within key phases of the
sales process, giving technical expert knowledge to their prospects.
Promotes the positive company image and develops long-term relations with
customers. Advises to the upper management on training types, recruits
participants for the relevant technical courses and gains commitment for
customer attendance. Gets familiar with all the applicable corporate as
well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct/HSE
standards and acts in compliance with all their regulations.
General
requirements
- High school graduate
- 3-5 years basic industrial
coatings experience
- Proficient with Microsoft
Office software
- Excellent verbal and written
communication skills
- Ability to travel
- Understands standard industry
practices
- Be able to lift 100 pounds
- Knows coating application,
techniques and parameters. Ability to apply principles of observation,
logical, or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data,
establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive
variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic
form. Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- After completing an initial
medical review and a drug and alcohol screen, employees performing TSR
tasks are subject to
periodic medical exams to determine their fitness to work as a TSR.
Many customers also require TSRs to be tested for drugs on a random basis
if TSRs visit or perform work on their sites.
Additional
requirements
- College degree preferred
- Experience in heavy duty
industrial coatings
- Familiarity with heavy
industrial job sites
- Read: Ability to read
newspapers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses,
encyclopedias, safety rules.
- Write: Ability to prepare
business letters, expositions, summaries, and reports, using prescribed
format. Must be able to prepare technical reports and maintain
proper diaries as well as be able to document time and motion.
- Speak: Ability to
participate in group discussions and debates; to speak extemporaneously on
a variety of subjects. Ability to speak coherently, accurately, and
precisely.
- Hear: Ability to detect safety
alarms and increase awareness in high risk areas.
- Computer literate
- May have to work around water
therefore must have the ability to swim
