FL County Seeking Detention Center Repaint Bids

Palm Beach County, Florida, is soliciting bids for painting and renovations to a detention facility.

The submittal date for this project is March 28. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Feb. 28 at the south side of the project site, along Baker Boulevard.

Scope of Work

This project involves painting, metalwork and renovations to the county’s Main Detention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Interior work is scheduled to include a two-coat system of concrete primer and urethane on concrete ceilings and a four-coat system of waterproof sealer and urethane on masonry walls. Specified interior walls will receive a two-coat system of masonry primer and urethane. Metal surfaces will require a two-coat system of epoxy and urethane.

Surfaces will require cleaning and preparation in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2) and Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3).

The owner-specified manufacturers for this project include Drylock and Sherwin-Williams.
