Bids Open for New TX Animal Facility

The City of Lake Jackson, Texas, is soliciting bids to construct a new 13,526-square-foot building.

The submittal date for this project is Feb. 22. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the council chambers of City Hall in Lake Jackson, Texas.

Scope of Work

This project involves construction and painting of the City of Lake Jackson Animal Control Facility.

The City of Lake Jackson, Texas, is soliciting bids to construct a new 13,526-square-foot building.

Exterior work involves a three-coat system of latex on ferrous metal, galvanized metal and aluminum substrates.

Interior work is scheduled to include a two-coat system of latex on concrete surfaces, a three-coat system of latex and epoxy on gypsum board surfaces, a three-coat system of stain and polyurethane on wood surfaces, and a three-coat system of latex on aluminum, steel and galvanized metal surfaces.

Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and Near-White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2).

The owner-specified manufacturers for this project are Benjamin Moore & Co., Glidden, PPG Paints and Sherwin-Williams.
