Contractor Connect Releases Conference Agenda

Friday, September 23, 2022

Technology Publishing Company’s popular hosted buyer event for the protective and marine coatings industry, Contractor Connect, is excited to share activities and opportunities slated for its upcoming conference.

From Oct. 25-28, qualified buyers (contractors) and sellers (suppliers) will come together for a variety of networking activities, educational sessions and prescheduled one-on-one meetings at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Palm Coast, Florida.

Conference Schedule

Registration and check in will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, with an ice breaker reception and dinner from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., sponsored by PPG. Registration is sponsored by Abrasives Incorporated.

The next day, the conference will kick off following breakfast with the event’s Coatings Panel Discussion from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., then a Business Development Session until 10:45 a.m. After some one-on-one meetings for the remainder of the morning, attendees will have the option to attend recreational activities such as golf or deep-sea fishing.

Sponsored by PPG, this year’s Golf Outing will take place at a Jack Nicklaus-designed Ocean Course, which boasts the most oceanfront holes in the entire state of Florida. While the photo-worthy views are just the beginning, participants will reportedly play six holes overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The award-winning course is also home to a four-hole finish nicknamed “The Bear Claw”—a challenge consistent with a memorable experience.

Technology Publishing Company’s popular hosted buyer event for the protective and marine coatings industry, Contractor Connect, is excited to share activities and opportunities slated for its upcoming conference.

This year’s fishing experience, sponsored by Graco Inc., will take anglers out to test their skills in catching a wide variety of deep-sea fish, such as tuna, sharks, swordfish and marlin, just to name a few. These types of sport fish aren’t found closer to shore, as they need open and deeper waters to feed. Skilled and beginner fishing enthusiasts alike may very well end up with a great story to share back home.

A dinner sponsored by The Sherwin-Williams Company, including a bourbon and wine tasting, will round out the day from 6:15 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Equipment Panel Discussion and the Abrasives Panel will take place on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 8 a.m. to 8:50 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., respectively. Contractors and suppliers will also meet for more one-one-one sessions throughout the day.

In the evening, Tnemec Company is sponsoring a dinner and Casino Night Event. The Cigar Bar is sponsored by CRW Consulting & Distribution, LLC/Corr-Ze.

On Friday, Oct. 28, attendees will spend the morning participating in one-on-one meetings before departing after lunch at noon. Lunch on Thursday and Friday are sponsored by the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT).

Oceanfront Location

Located just minutes south of St. Augustine, Florida, the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa is described as “an extraordinary treasure” nested on the Palm Coast beaches of the Atlantic Coast.

Featuring 300 guestrooms and suites throughout its three towers, in addition to spacious condominiums and an assortment of public spaces, the resort property is reported to be an oasis of tranquility and relaxation whose staff is committed to delivering a first-class experience.

In looking out from the resort, guests attending the event will be met with unparalleled views of the ocean and its Jack Nicklaus-designed oceanfront golf course. Additionally, the resort features a second golf course as well: the Conservatory Course, designed by Tom Watson. Both courses are reported to have spectacular oceanfront views, dramatic rolling hills and challenging layouts.

Besides the rich ocean views and golfing opportunities, the resort also features several indoor and outdoor restaurant and bar options, numerous guest activities such as its full-service spa, tennis courts and fitness center, in addition to pool and beach swimming options.

Reported to be one of Florida’s most sought-after meeting locations, Hammock Beach Resort & Spa boasts over 16,000 square feet of indoor function space and over 40,000 square feet of flexible outdoor space.

Meeting rooms are noted to feature extensive audiovisual capabilities, which are serviced by the resort’s award-winning and professional event planning staff, offering a rare combination of natural beauty with modern conference facilities and luxury amenities.

Industry Commends CC21

Returning for its fifth year, Contractor Connect boasts praise from its previously attended contractors and suppliers regarding the event’s priceless experiences and networking activities. Last year’s Contractor Connect held private one-on-one meetings, panel discussions and several special events for attendees.

“The one thing we really enjoy about Contractor Connect and that cannot be replicated anywhere is the time we get with the contractors,” said Trey Chandler, former CEO and founding member of CRW Consulting & Distribution. “Usually we go through our distributors. Sometimes you don’t hear the exact questions and concerns that you need to.

“The moment that we walk in the door with the contractors, for the entire 30 minutes we have with them, not only do we learn a lot, but we’re able to sell our product directly to the contractors and end-users that are going to be using the product.”

“This is my second Contractor Connect. One thing I like about this event is I get to network with some proper decision makers. I get to find projects through them that I get to focus on with them on a consulting basis,” said Lee Multack, National Sales Director, Niles Industrial Coatings, LLC, at Contractor Connect 2021.

“To me it’s a tremendous resource for gaining new business and earning new relationships with people. I really enjoy it; I think it’s a great event. The networking has been tremendous and the event has been tremendous.”

“The meetings were timely and well attended, meals and social activities were well planned out and lended to excellent additional conversations, contractors/customers were engaged and eater to talk, and scheduling was spot on for times,” said Paul J. Atzemis, Jr., Carboline Company.

“I know I said this many times, but we know when we give sponsorship dollars to you all, they are in good hands,” said Cory Brown and Chase Bean, Tnemec. “Thanks again for a great week.”

In a comment on LinkedIn, Induron President Davies Hood wrote, “Best Contractor Connect yet!” Hood has been an attendee of the event since its inaugural year. In his post, he continued, “The [TPC] crew also put together the best group of contractors yet. Everyone that we engaged with was interested in truly growing their business and learning more about the Industrial Coatings Market.”

On the contractor side of things, Lucy Giaculi of Brave Industrial Painting sent a nice email: “Our team at Brave Industrial Paint LLC. would like to thank you for inviting us to the Contractor Connect Event 2021! It was a wonderful, insightful, informative, and enjoyable experience which we are extremely honored to have been a part of!

“We greatly appreciate your efforts in making it possible for us to attend the event! Our most sincere thanks!”
