CTDOT Accepting Bids for New Facility

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the demolition and construction of an 18,160-square-foot maintenance facility and 6,050-square-foot office area in Orange, Connecticut.

The submittal date for this project is Sept. 28.

Scope of Work

This project involves construction and painting of the Orange Maintenance Facility in Orange, Connecticut.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the demolition and construction of an 18,160 square-foot maintenance facility and 6,050 square-foot office area in Orange, Connecticut.

Exterior work involves a three-coat system of zinc and latex on structural steel substrates and a three-coat system of latex on galvanized metal substrates.

Interior work is scheduled to include a three-coat system of epoxy on concrete surfaces; a three-coat system of latex on concrete masonry units, galvanized metal, wood and specified steel surfaces; and a three-coat system of zinc and latex on structural steel surfaces.

Surfaces will require preparation in accordance with standards for Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5/NACE No. 1), Pickling (SSPC-SP 8) and Near-White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2).

The owner-specified manufacturers for this project are Benjamin Moore & Co., ICI Paints, PPG and Sherwin-Williams.
