Scope of Work
This project involves rehabilitation and coating of the 500,000-gallon Oglethorpe elevated storage tank (constructed in 2007) and the 500,000-gallon Glynn Place Mall elevated storage tank (constructed in 1987).
Tank interior surfaces will require full abrasive blast-cleaning to Near White (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) and coating with a zinc-rich primer, polyamidoamine epoxy intermediate and high solids immersion-grade phenalkamine epoxy finish coating.
The owner-approved coating manufacturers are Carboline, Induron and Sherwin-Williams, or an approved equivalent.

Tank exterior surfaces will require solvent cleaning and pressure washing with 3,500 psi water, followed by Power Tool or Brush Off Blast-Cleaning to Bare Metal (SSPC-SP 3, SP 7/NACE No. 4) and coated with a zinc-rich primer, polyamidoamine epoxy first intermediate, and an aliphatic acrylic polyurethane or fluoropolymer second intermediate and topcoat.
The owner-approved coating manufacturers are Carboline, Induron and Sherwin-Williams, or an approved equivalent.
The project includes replacement of foundation sealants with an elastomeric joint sealant. The owner-approved coating manufacturer is Sika, or an approved equivalent.
Containment is required.
