Exterior work involves a single-coat system of alkyd on concrete substrates and a three-coat system of epoxy and polyurethane on steel, iron and aluminum substrates.
Interior work is scheduled to require a three-coat system of epoxy on non-traffic concrete surfaces, a three-coat system of latex on concrete masonry units, a three-coat system of alkyd on metal surfaces, a three-coat system of urethane on wood surfaces and a four-coat system of latex on gypsum board and plaster surfaces.
Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5/NACE No. 1), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3), Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7/NACE No. 4), Pickling (SSPC-SP 8) and Bare Metal Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 11).
