Contractors Wanted for WV Capitol Painting, Reno

The West Virginia Department of Administration is soliciting bids for painting and renovations at the West Virginia Capitol Complex in Charleston.

The submittal date for this project is July 26.

A mandatory pre-bid site walk will be scheduled by the project owner.

Scope of Work

This project involves painting and site work at Building 4 within the West Virginia Capitol Complex in Charleston.

The West Virginia Department of Administration is soliciting bids for painting and renovations at the West Virginia Capitol Complex in Charleston.

Exterior work involves a single-coat system of alkyd on concrete substrates and a three-coat system of epoxy and polyurethane on steel, iron and aluminum substrates.

Interior work is scheduled to require a three-coat system of epoxy on non-traffic concrete surfaces, a three-coat system of latex on concrete masonry units, a three-coat system of alkyd on metal surfaces, a three-coat system of urethane on wood surfaces and a four-coat system of latex on gypsum board and plaster surfaces.

Surfaces must be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3), White Metal Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 5/NACE No. 1), Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3), Brush-Off Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 7/NACE No. 4), Pickling (SSPC-SP 8) and Bare Metal Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 11).

Manufacturers specified for this project are Benjamin Moore, PPG Paints, Pratt & Lambert and Valspar.
