Bids Wanted for Pittsburgh Bridge Preservation

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking contractors to perform preservation services to the 30th Street Bridge in Pittsburgh.

The contract is estimated between $1,000,000 and $2,499,999.99.

Bids are due June 30.

Scope of Work

PennDOT is seeking contractors to perform preservation services for the 30th Street Bridge spanning the Allegheny River between Troy Hill and Washington’s Landing in Pittsburgh.

With a length of 432 linear feet, work will include preservation, guide rail and sidewalk repair, pavement markings, highway lighting and other miscellaneous construction from the intersection of River Avenue to the intersection of Waterfront Drive.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking contractors to perform preservation services to the 30th Street Bridge in Pittsburgh.

The project includes 88 square yards of protective coating of cement concrete pavement and shoulders. The contract also includes 114 square yards of penetrating sealant protective coating for reinforced concrete surfaces. The owner-approved penetrating sealant manufacturers are BASF and Euclid.

The project will also include 1,700 square yards of high molecular weight methacrylate sealing of bridge decks and approach slabs.

The chosen contractor will oversee 977 square yards of hydrodemolition concrete bridge deck surfaces and 6,120 square yards of 1/2 inch depth sacrification. Work will include 20 square feet of Type 2 concrete bridge deck repair and 29 square feet of Type 3 concrete deck repair.
