Nominations Now Open for 2022 Elevation Awards

Tuesday, May 31, 2022

The nomination period for Technology Publishing Co.’s sixth annual Elevation Awards officially kicked off today (May 31). This year, participants will see a few changes in both eligibility and categories for the commercial painting competition.

Carried out in partnership with the Commercial Painting Industry Association, the honors program recognizes projects ranging from residential exteriors and commercial renovations to floor coatings and wall coverings throughout the commercial coatings industry.

“From the competition’s inaugural year to where we are now, the Elevation Awards have witnessed an impressive collection of competitive nominations and projects,” said Destiny Johnson, Editor-in-Chief of Commercial Painting. “To keep the momentum going, we at TPC and the CPIA felt it was time to expand and critique the program to increase competition, showcase painter’s hard work and set the bar for industry excellence.”

Submitting a Nomination

To submit a nomination or for more information, visit paintsquare.com/elevation.

To submit a successfull nomination, TPC and the CPIA suggests the following:

  1. Fill out all contact information fields.
  2. Select the appropriate Project Category based on project type and its respective description.
  3. Name your project and include its location.
  4. Name the project’s Client/Owner and Contractor for proper recognition.
  5. Don’t forget to include your project’s start and end dates, as they are crucial to the eligibility of your nomination.
  6. When filling out the “About the Project” section, be as descriptive as possible. Our judges would like to know the project’s challenges and why decision makers made the choices they did. This section should run anywhere between 10 to 15 sentences but can run longer as needed.
  7. Being specific is key in the “Products Used for Project” section. List all the products and quantities used on the project. This section can cover everything from surface preparation materials to primers, intermediate and top coats to wallcoverings and glazes. A short sentence explaining why each product was chosen should also be included.
  8. Photos can be the most crucial part of submitting a successful project nomination. For this reason, be sure to include between five and 10 high-resolution photos.
