Contractors Needed for Water Tower Reconditioning

The City of Hermantown in Minnesota is currently seeking contractors for the reconditioning of a 600,000-gallon elevated water tower.

Bids are due Jan. 6, 2022.

Scope of Work

This project involves the abrasive blast cleaning and coating of a 600,000-gallon elevated water tower.

The project includes the abrasive blast cleaning of interior wet surfaces using the standards associated with Near White (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2) and coating of the same surface using a zinc-rich aromatic urethane primer and two coats of polyamidoamine epoxy.

Dry surfaces shall also be abrasive blast cleaned to Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and coated using a three-coat polyamidoamine epoxy system.

All exterior surfaces are to be abrasive blast cleaned using the standards associated with Commercial standards (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3) and coated with a polyamidoamine epoxy primer, aliphatic acrylic polyurethane intermediate and advanced thermoset solution fluoropolymer finish coating.

The project includes the coating of tank logos.

Approved coating manufacturers for this project are Sherwin-Williams and Tnemec.

Full containment is required for the full interior and exterior.
