HI DOT Opens Bids for Terminal Project

The Hawaii Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the replacement of the Overseas Terminal roof at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu.

The submittal date for this project is Jan. 20.

A virtual pre-bid conference will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 30.

Scope of Work

This project involves removing and replacing the roofing system, coating the new roof and other repairs at the Overseas Terminal located at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

The Hawaii Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the replacement of the Overseas Terminal roof at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu.

Exterior work is scheduled to include a three-coat system of epoxy and siloxane on new and existing galvanized steel substrate, a two-coat system of latex on PVC and plastic surfaces and a three-coat system of latex on concrete.

Interior work involves a three-coat system of waterborne primer and latex on galvanized steel surfaces. Gypsum board substrates will require a three-coat system of latex.

Surfaces are to be cleaned and prepared in accordance with standards for Solvent Cleaning (SSPC-SP 1), Hand Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 2), Power Tool Cleaning (SSPC-SP 3) and Commercial Blast Cleaning (SSPC-SP 6/NACE No. 3).

Interested parties seeking to attend the virtual pre-bid conference on Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. should email maritez.a.marquez@hawaii.gov with contact information at least 72 hours before the meeting date in order to attend. Attendance is not mandatory, but encouraged.

The manufacturers specified for this project include Glidden and PPG Paints.
